If there is no other sign exept high blood sugar levels, can that be type 2 diabetes? Is it necesary to have some clinical symptoms at all in such case?

I am now on my 3rd type of oral medication for my type 2 diabetes. My average blood sugar is 300 on much of my medications. The doctor hinted that I may be better off using a long term basil insulin and then increasing my exercises. I’m afraid that if I go on the shot that I will always be on the shot.

A kid on youtube (looks like he’s 11-12 years old) is trying to tell me that diabetes is “caused by lack of exercise and diet” and that “by having a healthy diet and exercising on a regular basis, its 100% curable” Diet and exercise only helps CONTROL diabetes, not cure it.
